What is this Workshop About?
This interactive workshop empowers participants to take control of their career journey using the Self-Directed Search (SDS), a trusted career assessment tool based on Holland’s RIASEC model. Participants will complete the SDS to identify their dominant career interests and personality types, then explore career options that align with their unique profiles.
Guided by career development professionals, attendees will:
- Interpret their SDS results to understand their work personality and compatible career fields
- Explore real-world job roles and industries that match their interests
- Map out practical pathways including education, certifications, and experience needed to achieve their chosen careers
- Leave with a personalized action plan to move confidently toward their career goals
Who would benefit?
Ideal for students, gap year explorers, and anyone between the ages of 17 and 19 seeking clarity and direction, this workshop blends self-discovery with strategic planning to help participants move from "I’m not sure" to "I know what’s next."
When will the Workshop take place?
The workshop is strategically planned around school commitments and is spread across two Sundays. Day one will include taking the SDS assessment, guidance on job search strategies, CV writing and interviewing skills. Day two focuses on SDS results and individual plans and goals with directed steps.
How much is the Workshop?
The all inclusive fee for the Career Development Workshop is R1800. This includes the SDS, results, personal plan, and all professional guidance.
